Exploring

Hi, I'm Amy. I am an explorer. I am in the rain forest now. The birds are chirping, the fish are swimming, and the mosquitoes are buzzing. "Ouch," one just bit me.

I walk around a thick tree and spot...a cave! I slowly and cautiously enter. "Eeee," something shrieks, and a whole swarm of bats head straight towards my face! "Yikes!" I scream, as I duck my head. i walk some more. Right in the middle of the cave is a glowing light. I chase it to the end of the cave, and I corner it. It squirms and tries to get out. Then, it grows bigger and I can see a face. It is a woman's face. She was a genie!

"Since you found me, I guess I shall grant you three wishes," she said with a sigh.

It took me a while to think of them. When I finally had what I would wish for in mind, I turned around and found that the genie had fallen asleep on a rock and was snoring. "I WISH FOR YOU TO WAKE UP!" Poof! The genie was wide awake. "Okay," poof! a notebook and pencil appeared in her hands. "That's one wish, now what are the other two?"

"I wish for one of those big cameras that professionals use.

"Easy enough," said the genie, and poof! a camera landed in my hand.

"Wrong camera," I said. Poof! "there we go"

I aimed the camera at the genie. "Hey, what are you doing?" she said.

"I'm trying to take a couple snap shots of you," I said. "Now hold still."Snap! "Perfect! But just to be sure-"

"Can we pleeease get on with the wishes?"

"Okay, fine," I say, "I wish to go back to New York City.

"Bye," said the genie, and poof! I was gone.

Beep beep! I look around - I was back! I ran into my apartment, went up the elevator, printed the photograph, went down the elevator, ran out the doors of the apartment, ran down the street, and panting, gave it to the nearest newspaper reporter.

The next day I looked at the newspaper and the headline was: Girl Finds Genie!

"Boy," I said to myself, "those reporters sure are quick!"
