“Gryphon’s been a good dog lately,” said Amber, “We should
have him try a new type of kibble as a treat.”
The next morning Gryphon noticed that his regular kibble was
gone. Instead, there were these weird squiggly thingies. Hmm, thought Gryphon, This
doesn’t look very appetizing. So he just left it there.
When Amber told Dave that Gryphon hadn’t eaten his
breakfast, Dave was shocked. “Did he even try it?” said Dave.
“No,” replied Amber, “he just left it there and walked away.”
“Hmmm,” said Dave.
At dinner, Dave tried to make Gryphon eat his food. “Come
on, buddy,” said Dave, “Eat your new kibble. We bought it especially for you.” Gryphon
still didn’t eat it.
When Amber and Dave were both asleep, Gryphon walked into
the kitchen…
“Hmm,” said Amber the next day. It was lunch time and Amber
couldn’t find half of her pepperoni pizza.
“Uuuuurp!” said Gryphon.
That night when Amber and Dave were sleeping, Gryphon
skillfully sneaked out of bed and went into the kitchen…
The next day, Dave was missing his leftover pork chop that
he had saved for lunch. To console himself, he went over to pat Gryphon. “Uuuurp!”
said Gryphon.
“That’s funny,” said Dave, “I thought we already brushed
your teeth this morning.” Gryphon had to brush his teeth again.
Amber and Dave went downstairs to discuss what was
happening. Then, when Gryphon was taking his nap, Amber and Dave fixed a
camera in the kitchen and Amber stuck a camera in the refrigerator. That night,
Gryphon went on his nightly trip to the kitchen…
In the morning, Amber and Dave found evidence of lunch
poaching. “Bad dog!” said Amber. “No more new kibble for you!”
Yes! Thought Gryphon.
The end
What a wonderful story Anahi - you made Dave and I laugh out loud! Actually, Gryphon hasn't been eating his kibbles recently but we haven't seen anything go missing from the fridge... yet. I read the story out loud to Dave, I hope Gryphon wasn't listening. Thanks for writing us such a great story. Love, Amber
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Amber, after all, you were the one who suggested a Gryphon story!
DeleteHow on earth did you know what Gryphon was thinking and how he was sneaking Amber & Dave's food. What great ideas you have. Do you think that if you ever get a dog it will do something like that? Love you. Gramdma
ReplyDeleteI don't know, grandma, let's get one and find out! ;)
DeleteThat's a terrific story!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful story!! Now I know what that sly little look is that Gryphon innocently wears on his face. Thank you for clearing that up!! :)
ReplyDeleteNo problem! (Yeah, he is a rascal.)
DeleteHi Anahi! That was a fun story! We love dogs. Makes me think of a fun e-book a friend of mine, Sue Kroupa, wrote called "Bed-Bugged." A mystery book with a labradoodle dog as the main character.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this is Lareena Goertz!
